Something to consider

The closest we've come to seeing a nest "boil" is watching a nest being evacuated 2 days before Hurricane Irene would have washed the whole thing away. But how cool would it be to see the little guys struggle out of their nest and crawl to the sea? The NPS statistics on 2011's season on Hatteras Island is here: http://www.seaturtle.org/nestdb/index.shtml?view_beach=2&year=2011

According to statistics you have a better chance seeing a boil between 7/27 and 9/14...just something to consider when scheduling your vacation on the outer banks!
