Mrs. Monessa Guzman, teaches a dance class, in Spring Lake. Pacific Island Pride, is not your ordinary dance class, something more unique and entertaining. She instructs students on Pacific Island dancing. These are cultural dances from islands such as Hawaii, New Zealand, Tahiti, and Guam.

I attended part of their practice Friday night, and found it to be very soothing and pleasurable. With the delicate music and the student’s distinctive movements, I could picture myself in a small canoe surrounded by sparkling water, rowing up to them. I felt like I was on vacation in the islands. They take you there.
